Effee is the new solo project of Columbus' Fran Litterski. Already busy as a part of Columbus bands Kid Runner and Fields & Planes, and as a touring member of Magic Man, we sat down with Fran to discuss how she is now stepping into the spotlight with her very own indie electro-pop, alt-rock tunes. Having now released two songs, "Lying" and 'Work It Out," as well as being featured on the collaboration "Not You" with Detroit producer Nydge, Fran is preparing for her first full-band live show as Effee, where she will be opening for Hazel English at the Big Room Bar on Thursday, November 16th.

As advertised, it was an evening of poignant piano ballads and refreshingly catchy pop tunes with Fran Litterski at the Bexley Public Library last night. Fran, playing solo on this night, is involved  in no shortage of musical projects these days. Touring in support of their new album, High Times For Low Lives, The Griswolds headlined at A&R Music Bar, with openers Dreamers and Kid Runner. After releasing their first EP in 2013, The Griswolds shot to fame with the hit single “Beware the Dog” off their first full-length album, Be Impressive. Having previously played bigger stages in Columbus, with Walk the Moon and Magic Man, it was a treat for fans to be up close and personal at A&R. They kicked off the show with the high energy track “Role Models” off of High Times For Low Lives, before jumping into “16 Years” off Be Impressive. Lead singer/guitarist Chris Whitehall (pictured left) is always working hard onstage and performs each of...

Believe it or not, but bands are still releasing their music in album form, and call me old-fashioned, but I still l still love to listen to music like that, not just as singles on Spotify. My musical tastes definitely revolve around the alt-rock genre, which is definitely reflected in my favorite releases from 2016. Did any of these albums make your list?

1. Dreamers - This Album Does Not Exist

The first full-length album from the now L.A. based trio was released back in August. Dreamers' brand of alt-rock leans into the pop side of the genre on this album, and their songs are full of catchy guitar riffs and lyrics. Check out songs "Sweet Disaster," "Wolves (You Got Me)", and "Painkill...
